Personal Statement

The reason behind me wanting to study Media production  is because it’s  what I am good at and  I love filmmaking and storytelling and just being able to write your own script it gives you that freedom of creativity , which is exactly what I love doing with my work . I say my two biggest achievements were being able to work with the BBC get into media programme / apprenticeship scheme and also being able to attend workshops and an interview for one of the largest advertising companies around the world, weiden + Kennedy. My life goal would definitely be to have my name written in the credits for a major movie, or I would like to work for either ITV or The BBC one day.

The one thing that I have really enjoyed about doing Level 3 Media extended diploma is that it really opens a lot of doors to different opportunities before I joined this course, I wasn’t exactly putting myself out there, but with this course you attend networking events with prestigious media companies you go to the BBC and even get a chance to work with the BBC, this course helped me really start my career in the media industry. In terms of what excites me about this course is that you really get to challenge yourself, you would end up doing for example I produced a short film for my final project I was completely out of depth because it’s something I had no experience in doing but i managed to do it because that what a true filmmaker does thy challenge themselves even though they know it’s going to be hard.

I have achieved many things while being on this course , but a few of my biggest ones would have to be getting a chance to work alongside the BBC in various projects such as the BBC get into media programme and being a presenter for the London borough of culture , I was selected by a member of the BBC team to the face of their London borough of culture project where they asked me a series of question that would then be edited and cut down into about 2 minute piece , it was a complete honour to work with them because it gave me that sense of what it is like to work for such an ionic company . Another thing that I did with the BBC is called the get into media programme where only a few were chosen to be a part of, I had to go through different stages of the programme for example workshops and different task such as journalism and film and television, we also got 1 on 1 mentorships with particular member of the BBC, mine was from the broadcasting department then in the summer is the work experience of your choice. I think the BBC was one of my biggest achievements / accomplishments in life because I would never have thought I would get something like that.  Another achievement of mine would be getting to work with weiden and Kennedy.

What will make me a good University student is that I have confidence, I am ambitious, overall I believe I am just very hard working , all three of those qualities make me the best I can be because in life all you can do is try and get to the top and I want to start off my journey by doing this course , I feel like it will teach me all that I need to know .
